Our Story

How it all started...

Bethel Congregational Methodist Church was first organized on October 15, 1905, at the home of C.P. Dawson. Charter members included Dawson, T. B. Ellis, J. Mills, and the Reverend B.R. Birdsong of Thomaston, GA. Bethel grew at a steady pace, and has been fortunate to grow and maintain modern, and accommodating facilitates.

Expanding the vision...

The vision at Bethel Church is to create a community of authentic believers and to witness a country transformed by the life changing reality of the gospel, as people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Our goal is to have authentic worship, that encourages believers to grow in their capacity of knowing Jesus more. In doing so, everyone who calls Bethel home, has the opportunity to model Jesus in serving others.

Where we are headed...

Our mission is the same mission Jesus Christ gave to His followers: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" Matthew 28:19-20. We cannot move forward without the Holy Spirit. At the same time, God is calling all believers to take part in this mission. Bethel understands this importance and strives, on a daily basis, to provide all the tools necessary to live out our mission. We encourage you to join us in making Heaven a crowded place!
